Obituary of Judith Ann Kitch

Judith Ann Kitch, age 79, passed away on Friday March 13, 2020 at the Scott County Hospital. She was born on July 14, 1940 in Ness County, Kansas, the oldest daughter of Herman and Nella Lewis Funk.
In 1958, Judy married Gary Kitch and was co-owner of Kitch Packing Company for many years. They later divorced, but remained good friends.
A lifetime resident of Scott City, Judy was an artist. She had earned degrees in commercial and fine arts, as well as an associates degree in sociology/psychology with an emphasis on art therapy. She was a member of the American Watercolor Society, the Kansas Watercolor Society and had her artwork shown in many galleries and art shows across the country. Judy taught private art lessons and group workshops for many years as well. She loved her family dearly and will be dearly missed.
On May 30, 2015, she married Dan Brown in Scott City. Other Survivors are her 2 children; Tad Kitch, Dighton, KS; Traci & Lynn Taylor, Scott City, KS; her mother; Nella Funk, Scott City, KS; 3 brothers, Larry Funk, Garden City, KS; Bob Funk, Cheyenne, WY; Kelly Funk, Scott City, KS; 1 sister, Sheila Boyd, Scott City, KS; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; 1 step-daughter, Teri and Paul Eaton, Liberal, KS and step-grandchildren.
Her father, infant daughter and 1 step-son preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2020 at Scott County Cemetery at 11 am with Adam Taylor officiating.
