I was always very touched at how kind “GranPaw Richard” was to us. He effortlessly welcomed us into his family (especially our young boys). My Dad, my Kids GranPaw, our Rock... you have fought a very long and hard fight, never complaining about the endless hours of dialysis, needles, surgeries, pokes and prods and for that I am thankful you fought for so long. You will be missed deeply and will always be in our hearts. We will miss the many State Fairs we have attended with you and the camping trips we all did, but you will continue to be the talk around the fire pit for all the camping trips to come. Rest easy now Dad for your fight is over. God has come to take you home, although it hurts deeply for us you have left behind we find comfort knowing we will someday meet again. Until then fly high and watch over us as we will continue to "Keep The Beans Really Hot" with all my love Dad, I miss you already

Richard, in my eyes wa s a very great man. I never had a dad and when we moved into the house on 7th st. Next door to the Galliarts I soon learned what it meant to have a dad. Richard was always Doing for his family and when they could he would include my family. Like taking turns on getting rides on his motorcycle. Showing everyone how to gut a fish, YUCK. WE would go frog hunting and he provided a big tractor wheel with sand in it so we had someplace to put our frogs. Played kick the can with us. He should my little brother Larry how to dig for worms. Let all of us dig a hole to China In his yard. I know there is so much more that I am not remembering, but Richard let me and my sisters and little brother know what it was like to have a dad around. And we all loved him dearly. Rest in peace dear Richard. When you get to heaven show GOD how to gut a fish, I'm sure he will love it.
