I can remember the time all of us girls came by to pick you up and you had a cake in the oven. You didn't want to wait so you said... I'll finish it later and turned off the oven. I never did know what happened with the cake! You always brought a smile to my face. I miss you.

Our lives are richer because of the special times we shared each 4th of July.
Roy King would let us watch the fireworks from the Garden City firetruck and often let us ride it back to the station. Janis sang and danced at the talent show. My favorite performance was when she sang the Lollipop song;) It just went with her enthusiastic personality.

I found a poem that comforts me in the loss of my dear friend, Janis. In our travels, JD and I met lots of wonderful people. But nothing can compete with the love and comfort of an old friend. Someone you've shared years of memories, happy and sad. We always looked forward to our summer stops parked in front of the house and catching up. I came across this poem and will ask that it be made part of my passing. TO THOSE I LOVE When I am gone, just release me, let me go - so I can move into my afterglow. You mustn't tie me down with your tears; let's be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve for me awhile, if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted with trust. It's only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and a "WELCOME HOME". We love you Janis and the hole you left in our lives when you went home is great. But we KNOW that we will all be together in awhile and you and all our friends and loved ones will be there waiting for us. We miss you but God needs you now. We'll be here for Harold if and when he needs us. God Bless you dear friend.

We are saddened by the loss of a dear woman. She was so loved by all and our memories of her friendship and the days when our kids roamed the "neighborhood" will keep her spirit alive in our hearts. Our prayers are with her family.

I am so sorry to hear that Janis left us so young. She was always a supporter of Garden City Highschool and all of us that went to school with her. I can't imagine another reunion without her there. She will definitely be missed.

Words can't express my heart. However, I can't go without saying what a dear friend Janis, (who deemed herself my, "Other Mother"), was to me in a time when she had no idea how badly I needed one. She and Harold (unknowingly) helped me through a very difficult time in my life. While the years have passed & my life took me miles away. All those times we shared, (even while I braided her hair) will NEVER be forgotten. She could always make me laugh and help me believe that a better day would come. So grateful for her in my life. Love & Prayers Jill
