Obituary of Doris Green

Holcomb, Kansas Doris Marietta Green, age 81, died Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Satanta District Hospital in Satanta, Kansas. She was born on May 8, 1930 in Zion, Illinois the daughter of Carson J. and Charolette Hazel Richards Davis. A lifetime resident of Finney County, Doris was a farmer, homemaker and school bus driver. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Finney County EHU. She was a 40 year member of the Eagles Auxillary, a lifetime member of the VFW and was a member of the American Legion all of Garden City, Kansas. On August 9, 1953, she married Arthur G. Green Sr. in Garden City, Kansas. He survives. Other Survivors Include: One Son, Arthur G. (& Kim) Green Jr. of Lakin, Kansas; Three Daughters, Gloria (& Mike) Fisher of Moscow, Kansas, Georgina ( & Tonie) Morris of Oak Grove, Missouri and Tina (& Jess) Martinez of Satanta, Kansas; One Step-Daughter, Jackie Meredith of Houston, Texas; One Sister, Viola Gamble of Bel Aire, Kansas; One Cousin, Richard (& MaryAnn) Duncan of Sublette, Kansas; 21 Grandchildren, 40 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a Sister, Cleota Gibbons, a Granddaughter, Christina Green and a Niece, Cheryl Moshier. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Friends may call from 1:00-8:00pm Monday @ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with the family being in attendance to receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm. Interment will be held in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Doris Green Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
