There are so many memories that I have of my mom that I will cherish for the rest of my life. She was a hard working woman that loved the outdoors. She was always working on the farm running the tractors and she really loved running the combines during harvest. She was a very strong person. She enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and driving the boat having skiers on the back. She never complained about working she just got up and did the work. I guess that is where I got that trait. She would help dad with bucking bales of hay and stacking them. And dehorning the cattle and branding the cattle. She never showed fear in her face when things got tough. When dad had his auto accident and was hurt real bad she did the chores with the help of us kids and even she had to call the neighbors and the veteran to come help pull a colt on one the mares. I even was out there helping out pulling on the rope to get the colt out but the colt did not make it. She even would help a cow deliver a calf at times when the cow was in trouble. As I have said she was a hard worker all of her life. When I would talk to her this last couple of years I would always tell her that I loved her and she would respond with "I know you do" When her alzheimer's got bad I just didn't know if she would know me from one visit to another. But I knew she would know me when she would make that statement to me " I Know you do" then I knew she was my mom. She will be greatly missed by all of us and I know she is in Heaven with Jesus and grandma grandpa and all of the other family members that have gone before us. They are rejoicing and celebrating her arrival. We will have sorrow here on this earth but knowing she is there and that one day I will see my mom again makes me feel ok.
