VELMA MAY WEAVER, AGE 92, PASSED AWAY ON SUNDAY, JUNE 3, 2007 AT MERCY REGIONAL HEALTH CENTER IN MANHATTAN, KANSAS. VELMA WAS BORN MAY 20, 1915 AT DUQUOIN, KANSAS, THE DAUGHTER OF FRANK & MARY JANE PIERSON DAUNER. SHE HAD BEEN A TRIBUNE RESIDENT SINCE 1953, MOVING TO MANHATTAN, KANSAS IN 2000 IN ORDER TO BE CLOSER TO HER FAMILY. SHE WAS A HOMEMAKER AND A 1937 GRADUATE OF FRIENDS UNIVERSITY IN WICHITA, KANSAS. VELMA ATTENDED THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF SEVERAL BRIDGE CLUBS IN TRIBUNE, KANSAS. SHE WAS AN AVID READER AND A GREAT SUPPORTER OF THE GREELEY COUNTY LIBRARY. ON AUGUST 15, 1953 SHE MARRIED JAMES F. WEAVER AT WICHITA, KANSAS. HE PASSED AWAY ON JULY 10, 1979 AT TRIBUNE, KANSAS. VELMA'S SURVIVORS INCLUDE- A SON AND HIS WIFE- JIM & JUDY WEAVER- MANHATTAN, KANSAS THREE GRAND DAUGHTERS- JENNIFER WEAVER- OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS JESSICA WEAVER- MANHATTAN, KANSAS JAMIE WEAVER- MANHATTAN, KANSAS FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 10:30 A.M. (M.D.T.) WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6, 2007 AT THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN TRIBUNE, KANSAS WITH THE REVEREND CHARLES AYERS OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN GREELEY COUNTY CEMETERY IN TRIBUNE, KANSAS. FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 3:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M. TUESDAY AT PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN TRIBUNE, KANSAS. MEMORIALS MAY BE GIVEN TO THE GREELEY COUNTY LIBRARY OR MEADOWLARK HILLS RETIREMENT COMMUNITY IN CARE OF THE FUNERAL HOME.
