Obituary of Maria Villanueva

Garden City, Kansas Maria D. Villanueva, age 68, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at the Terrace Garden Care Center in Garden City, Kansas. She was born December 15, 1938 in Pawnee, Texas the daughter of Aurelio and Louisa Gonzalez Serna. In 1962 she moved from Kennedy, Texas to Boise City, Oklahoma and then to Garden City in 1972. She was a homemaker and worked at St. Catherine Hospital in the housekeeping department for 10 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Garden City, Kansas. On April 18, 1958 she married Servando "Joe" Villanueva in Pawnee, Texas. He survives. Other survivors include: Four Sons, Melvin Villanueva of Lincoln, Nebraska, Oscar Villanueva of Littleton, Colorado, LeRoy Villanueva of Garden City, Kansas Billy Jo Villanueva of Garden City, Kansas; Two Daughters, Mary Jo Andersen of Davenport, Iowa Melody Villanueva of Fowler, Kansas; Four Brothers, Seferino, Isaac & Fernando Serna all of Pawnee, Texas Nicho Serno of Guymon, Oklahoma; One Sister, Felicita Smith of Anchorage, Alaska; Eleven Grandchildren and One Great-Grandchild. Vigil and Rosary services will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City. The funeral mass will be said at 10:00am on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the church with Father Anthony Judge, C.Ss.R. presiding. Friends may call from 10:00am until 5:00pm on Wednesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
