EVERETT A. THOMAS, AGE 94, PASSED AWAY ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2008 AT SCOTT COUNTY HOSPITAL IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS. EVERETT WAS BORN JANUARY 22, 1914 IN FORD COUNTY, KANSAS, THE SON OF JOHN WILLIS & MAGGIE VIOLA HETRICK THOMAS. HE HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF SCOTT COUNTY SINCE 1928 MOVING FROM FORD COUNTY, KANSAS AND WAS A 1932 GRADUATE OF SHALLOW WATER HIGH SCHOOL. HE WAS A FORMER EMPLOYEE OF V.M. HARRIS GRAIN COMPANY AND V.M. HARRIS FARMS AS WELL AS THE FORMER SCOTT COUNTY ROAD DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR .
HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS.
ON SEPTEMBER 3, 1933 HE MARRIED RUBY ROENE BURNS AT SYRACUSE, KANSAS. SHE PASSED AWAY ON JANUARY 10, 1996 AT SCOTT CITY, KANSAS.
EVERETT'S SURVIVORS INCLUDE- THREE SONS- CLYDE THOMAS- SCOTT CITY, KANSAS RONALD THOMAS- NACAGDOCHES, TEXAS KEITH THOMAS- LEON, KANSAS FOUR DUAGHTERS- GLENDA SCHINNERER- SCOTT CITY, KANSAS THEADA WHITEMAN- JOHNSTOWN, COLORADO WANDA PATTON- BRIGHTON, COLORADO PAULA ABLANG- LAS VEGAS, NEVADA TWENTY TWO GRANDCHILDREN, NUMEROUS GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY TWO BROTHERS, FIVE SISTERS, THREE GRANDCHILDREN AND TWO GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 10:30 A.M. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2008 AT THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS WITH THE REVEREND KYLE EVANS OFFICIATING.
BURIAL WILL BE IN SCOTT COUNTY CEMETERY IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS.
FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM NOON TO 8:00 P.M. SATURDAY AND FROM 1:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M. SUNDAY AT PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS.
MEMORIALS MAY BE GIVEN TO THE SCOTT COUNTY HOSPITAL OR PARKLANE NURSING HOME IN CARE OF THE FUNERAL HOME.
