Jack Dean Stroud, Age 75, died Monday, January 22, 2007 @ his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born May 9, 1931 at Murphysboro, Illinois, the son of William Earl and Ida Mae Hayes Stroud. A resident of Garden City since 1961 moving from Spillertown, Illinois he had been a diesel mechanic for Berry Tractor and Equipment in Garden City.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict as a Master Sergeant.
He was a member of the Southern Baptist Faith.
On October 11, 1963 he married Candida Tolar in Garden City, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include: 3 Sons: Michael T. Stroud, Jack D. Stroud and Kristopher T. Stroud all of Garden City, Kansas. 5 Daughters: Kathy C. Herman, Peggy A. Stroud, Jenney O.M. Mommer, Keshia M. Stroud and Marcie L.A. Stroud all of Garden City, Kansas. 2 Brothers: William Stroud of New Boston, Michigan and Kenneth Stroud of Johnston, Illinois. 4 Sisters: Sadie Marie Fenter of Murphysboro, Illinois, Betty Branch of Spillertown, Illinois, Louise Hawhins of Greensboro, Indiana and Joann Milton of Murphysboro, Illinois. 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Rev. Robert Nuckolls presiding.
There will be no calling times.
Interment will take place at a later date in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas
