PHILIP E. STRICKERT, AGE 90, DIED FRIDAY, MARCH 24, 2006 AT ST. CATHERINE HOSPITAL IN GARDEN CITY, KANSAS. HE WAS BORN APRIL 5, 1915 IN SCOTT COUNTY, KANSAS THE SON OF HERMAN F. & ANNIE PELK STRICKERT. A GARDEN CITY RESIDENT SINCE 1959 MOVING FROM FRIEND, KS, HE WAS A RETIRED FARMER AND SEED SALESMAN FOR HORIZON SEEDS. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH AND THE EAGLES LODGE, BOTH OF GARDEN CITY.
ON AUGUST 1, 1941, HE MARRIED MYRA ROEMER AT ULYSSES, KANSAS. SHE SURVIVES.
OTHER SURVIVORS INCLUDE: 2 SONS - DELBERT STRICKERT OF EUFAULA, OKLAHOMA AND WILLIAM STRICKERT OF YUMA, COLORADO, 3 DAUGHTERS - PHYLLIS SAGE OF WEST RICHLAND, WASHINGTON, LINDA ORRICK OF OLATHE, KANSAS AND ANNETTE STRICKERT OF AURORA, COLORADO, 10 GRANDCHILDREN AND 3 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.
HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY 1 GRANDDAUGHTER, DANA MARIE ORRICK, 5 BROTHERS AND 3 SISTERS.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2:00PM, MONDAY, MARCH 27, 2006 AT PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME, GARDEN CITY, WITH REV. BILL NOWLAN OFFICIATING.
FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM NOON-8PM SUNDAY AND 10AM-NOON MONDAY @ PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN GARDEN CITY. INTERMENT WILL BE IN THE SCOTT COUNTY CEMETERY, SCOTT CITY. MEMORIALS MAY BE GIVEN TO THE EAGLES LODGE MAX BAIR HEART FUND IN CARE OF PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME - GARDEN CITY.
