Gladys E. Blackburn, age 82, passed away at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas on Monday, April 10, 2006. She was born on April 26, 1923 in Scott City, Kansas, the daughter of George Daniel and Anna Laura Alexander Lawrence. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, she was a retired School Teacher from 1942 to 1944 in Lance County, Kansas, and then from 1945 to 1968 in Scott County, Kansas and then from 1969 to 1987 in Scott City, Kansas.
Memberships include: First Christian Church Scott City, Kansas Garden Club Scott City, Kansas Delta Kappa Gamma Retired Teachers Association National Education Association Church Circle Scott City, Kansas
On June 5, 1949 she married Joseph Taylor Blackburn in Scott City, Kansas. He passed away on March 1, 1968 in Denver, Colorado. Survivors: Nieces Belva & Dale Rosenau Garden City, Kansas Tamra & Richard Maynard Garden City, Kansas & Hillary, Ally & Riley Nephew William & Debbie Knight Garden City, Kansas Daughter In Law Gloria Blackburn Big Springs, Texas Step Granddaughter Sandra & Rick Garcia El Paso, Texas & Cristian
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, and One Son â Everett W. Blackburn.
