BERTHA MILDRED SPRADLING, AGE 98, PASSED AWAY ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 4, 2008 AT THE WICHITA COUNTY LONG TERM CARE UNIT IN LEOTI, KANSAS. BERTHA WAS BORN FEBRUARY 1, 1909 AT IDA, MICHIGAN, THE DAUGHTER OF CHARLES CALVIN & LOUISE (LIZZIE) BACH RUPP CHARTER. SHE WAS A 1927 GRADUATE OF ARKANSAS CITY HIGH SCHOOL IN ARKANSAS CITY, KANSAS. SHE WAS A TEACHER AND A HOMEMAKER AND HAD BEEN A LEOTI RESIDENT SINCE 1943 MOVING FROM THE PORTLAND/SOUTH HAVEN, KANSAS AREA.
BERTHA WAS A MEMBER OF THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH AND THE EASTERN STAR, BOTH OF LEOTI, KANSAS.
ON AUGUST 5, 1928 SHE MARRIED ORVILLE B. SPRADLING AT MAYFIELD, KANSAS. HE PASSED AWAY ON FEBRUARY 14, 1983 AT LEOTI, KANSAS.
BERTHA'S SURVIVORS INCLUDE- ONE SON - DAVID JOHN SPRADLING - PARSONS, KANSAS FOUR GRANDCHILDREN, SIX GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, TWO STEP GRANDCHILDREN AND FOUR STEP GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. SHE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY TWO SONS, GARY DON SPRADLING IN 1937 AND JERRY JOE SPRADLING IN 2001.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 10:30 A.M. MONDAY, JANUARY 7, 2008 AT THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN LEOTI, KANSAS WITH THE REVERENDS RICK JUST, GLENN FOGO, GORDON TASKER AND LAWRENCE LAMBERT, JR. OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN LEOTI CEMETERY, LEOTI, KANSAS.
FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 3:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M. SATURDAY AND FROM 1:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M. SUNDAY AT PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN LEOTI, KANSAS.
MEMORIALS MAY BE GIVEN TO THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OR THE WICHITA COUNTY LONG TERM CARE UNIT IN CARE OF THE FUNERAL HOME.
