Vangie Isabel Spillman, age 82, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the Lakes Care Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on June 14, 1924 in Jetmore, Kansas the daughter of Joe & Jennie Cohoon Graham. A former resident of Garden City for over 50 years, she was a homemaker.
On December 25, 1943 she married Edward Spillman in Garden City, Kansas. He died on November 2, 1994 in Garden City, Kansas. Survivors include a daughter, Trudy Shaddy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a son, Floyd Spillman of Littleton Colorado, two grandsons Brad & Matt Nuzum of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a granddaughter, Chandra Lay of Highlands Ranch Colorado, five great-grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son Larry, an infant daughter, two sisters, Inez Ackley and Betty Crockett and a brother Robert Graham.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 10th at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
There will be no local calling times.
Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
The family requests memorials be given to the American Diabetes Association or to the Alzheimers Association both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
