Serena Schoonover, age 89, passed away at the Western Plains Medical Center in Dodge City, Kansas on Sunday, May 21, 2006. She was born on July 4, 1916 in Nacoma, Kansas, the daughter of William and Lydia Wertz Rodenberg. She moved to Scott City, Kansas in 1916 and was a lifetime resident until 2001 when she moved to Dodge City, Kansas. She was a homemaker. Memberships include: Holy Cross Lutheran Church Scott City, Kansas Study Club Scott City, Kansas On September 7, 1940 she married Joseph George Schoonover in Scott City, Kansas. He passed away on February 9, 1998 in Dodge City, Kansas. Survivors: Three Daughters Janis Jo Morrow Dodge City, Kansas Judy Marie Ricke Dodge City, Kansas Karen Sue Crist Garden City, Kansas One Sister Edna Wood Tucson, Arizona Nine Grandchildren Fifteen Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her Parents, Two Brothers, Two Sisters, and One Infant Daughter.
