Stanley E. Schmitt, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on November 19, 1935 in at the family farm in Scott County, Kansas, the son of Otto Henry and Leona Unruh Schmitt. A lifetime resident of Scott County and Scott City, he was a farmer.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church holding numerous church offices over the years, Men's Prayer Breakfast, Scott City Shrine Club and Anthem Masonic Lodge #284 all of Scott City, Kansas.
On November 28, 1954 he married Joyce M. Fullmer in Dighton, Kansas. She survives.
Survivors include his Wife - Joyce M. Schmitt of Scott City, Kansas, Two Sons - Jeff & Cindy Schmitt of Kansas City, Missouri, Brett & Allie Schmitt of Shawnee, Kansas, Two Daughters - Kim & Brad Burnett of Wichita, Kansas, Sherry & Ron Timbrook of Overland Park, Kansas, Nine Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and One Sister â Shirley Hueftle.
Funeral Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2009 with the Rev. Dennis Carter presiding.
Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church or Camp Lakeside % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
