Helen J. Ryan, age 91, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2010 at her home in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on November 5, 1919 in Scott City, Kansas, the daughter of Alva Morse and Marie Alta Partington Hopper. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, she was a homemaker.
Her memberships both current and past include The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Federated Music Club, Area Mental Health Board, the El Quartelejo Study Club, PTA and a Girl Scout Leader all of Scott City.
On July 23, 1939 she married Glen E. Ryan in Scott City, Kansas. He survives.
Survivors Include her Husband - Glen E. Ryan of Scott City, Kansas, One Son - Dean & Deb Ryan of Garden City, Kansas, Five Daughters - Glenda & Leroy Glenn of Odenville, Alabama, Susan & Van Shaff of Cedar Vale, Kansas, Janet & Dale Unruh of Montezuma, Kansas, Tamara & Roger Brewer of Wildomar, California, Sharlyn Ryan of Maricopa, Arizona, One Daughter in Law - Karen Ryan of Scott City, Kansas, One Sister in Law - Marian Irvins Hopper of Sarasota, Florida, Forty One Grandchildren, Sixty One Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Three Sons â Larry Elden Ryan, Charles Everett Ryan and Jay Dee Ryan, Four Sisters - Neva Wimer, Eythel Hollingsworth, F. Elma Russell, Evelyn Steele, Two Brothers â A. Martin Hopper, Floyd Hopper, Two Half Brothers â Charles Hopper, Harold Hopper, and One Half Sister â Clio Johnson.
Funeral Services will be held at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Scott City Ward at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2010 Scott City, Kansas with Bishop Irvin Yeager presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Helen Ryan Memorial Fund % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home - Scott City from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
