Clara Belle Ryan, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Via Christi St. Joseph Campus in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on February 28, 1928 in Falls City, Nebraska, the daughter of Perry and Alberta Nerissa Stewart Rice. In 1946 Clara moved to Scott City, Kansas from Garden City, Kansas where she worked as a secretary for Garvy Elevator in Scott City, Kansas until moving to Wichita, Kansas in 1976 where she worked the literacy program. After retiring she moved to Council Grove area from 1990 until moving back to Wichita in 1998. She was a homemaker.
Memberships Include the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and First Baptist Church of Scott City, Kansas.
On June 1, 1947 she married Van G. Ryan in Scott City, Kansas. He passed away on May 16, 1998 in Wichita, Kansas.
Survivors include One Son - Galen Ryan of Wichita, Kansas, One Daughter - Penny Ryan of Wichita, Kansas, Mother - Alberta N. Rice of Jetmore, Kansas, Two Brothers - Johnny Rice of Nickerson, Kansas and George Rice of Garden City, Kansas, Four Sisters - Lucille Stephenson of Portsmouth, Virginia, Joan Gilmore of Jetmore, Kansas, Janet Jones of Garden City, Kansas, and Patty Avila of Garden City, Kansas. Four Grandchildren - Megan Ryan, J.R. Ryan, Jade Williams, June Belkovskis and One Great Grandson - Nash Belkovskis
She was preceded in death by her Father, Husband, One Daughter â Marsha Williams, and One Grandson â Cody Ryan.
Graveside Services will be held at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008 with the Rev. Robert Nuckolls officiating.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Clara Belle Ryan Memorial Fund % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
