Obituary of Socorro Rivero

Socorro Rivero, age 47, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. She was born on May 12, 1960 in Zimappan, Mexico, the daughter of Aurelio and Tranquilina Ponce Labra. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1988 moving from Zimappan, Mexico, she was a cook for the Scott County VIP Center. Memberships include: St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Scott City, Kansas. On April 24, 1987 she married Sabas Rivero in Garden City, Kansas. He survives. Survivors Include: Husband: Sabas Rivero of Scott City, Kansas Four Daughters: Consuelo Rivero, Beatriz Rivero, Alejandra Rivero, and Abigail Rivero all of Scott City, Kansas. Mother: Tranquilina Labra of Zimappan, Mexico. Five Brothers: Demetrio Labra of Scott City, Kansas, Bruno Labra of Wichita, Kansas, Julio Labra of Plains, Kansas, Esteban Labra and Fernando Labra both of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Two Sisters: Antonia Labra of Mexico City, Mexico and Theresa Labra of Zimappan, Mexico. Three Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Father and Two Brothers. Vigil Service will be held at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2008. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008. Officiating will be Fr. Warren Stecklein and Fr. Tony Judge. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials In Lieu Of Flowers may be given to the Socorro Rivero Memorial Fund % Price & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday.
