Norma Jean Rich, age 67, died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, Kansas. She was born May 18, 1939 in Canton, Ohio the daughter of Edward N. and Doris M. Rodgers Shearer. She was raised and grew up in Fontana, California moving to Garden City in 1983. Then in 1985 she moved to Deerfield, Kansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian faith. She also belonged to the Fraternal Order Of Eagles, Aerie #3124 of Garden City, Kansas.
On April 26, 1985 she married Duwayne E. Rich @ Garden City, Kansas. He survives.
Other survivors include: 6 Sons: Larry McEwen of Pasadena, California, Allen McEwen of California, Donald Sowell of Florence, Arizona, Charles Smith of Livingston, Texas, David Rich of Deerfield, Kansas and Jimmy Rich of Downs, Kansas; 5 Daughters: Linda Forbes of Harper, Kansas, Liz Flemming of McMinnville, Oregon, Sandra Williams of Garden City, Kansas, Joyce Aldrich of Fallon, Montana and Betty Jo Hampton of Downs, Kansas; 1 Sister: Myrna Wolberd of Lincoln, Kansas; 33 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sons, Richard Rush and William Rich
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at the Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield, Kansas with Rev. Robert Nuckolls presiding.
Friends may call from 5:00-8:00pm on Tuesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
Memorials may be given to the Norma Jean Rich Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
