Donald E. Bennett, age 80, died Monday, October 6, 2008 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on November 1, 1929 in Scott County, Kansas the son of Elmer and Thelma Fenton Bennett. He had been a resident of Garden City since 1950 moving from Iowa. For several years he worked for Kemper Automotive in Garden City before opening and in the late 1990's retiring from his own business, A&B Automotive.
He was a member of the Christian faith.
Survivors Include: One Son, Jody Bennett of Garden City, Kansas; One Daughter, Audrey Crain of Hays, Kansas; One Brother, Richard Bennett of Holcomb, Kansas; Two Sisters, Virginia Miller of Garden City, Kansas and Margaret Tackett of Deerfield, Kansas; Four Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Anthony & Troy Bennett and one sister, Mary Ewing.
Graveside Services will be held at 5:00pm on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 at the Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield, Kansas.
There will be no calling times.
The family requests memorials be given to the Donald Bennett Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
