LESTER ROBERT BEESON, AGE 87, PASSED AWAY ON FRIDAY EVENING, MAY 2, 2008 AT PARKLANE NURSING HOME IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS. LESTER WAS BORN JANUARY 30, 1921 IN SHERMAN COUNTY, KANSAS THE SON OF CLIFFORD C. & CORA JONES BEESON. HE WAS A FARMER AND A LIFETIME RESIDENT OF SCOTT COUNTY. HE FAITHFULLY SERVED HIS COUNTRY IN THE UNITED STATES NAVY DURING WORLD WAR TWO AS A SUBMARINER. LESTER'S MEMBERSHIPS INCLUDE â FRATERNAL ORDER OF THE EAGLES LODGE # 3124, LIFETIME MEMBER OF THE V.F.W., & AMERICAN LEGION, ALL OF GARDEN CITY, KS., AND THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SUBMARINER VETERANS OF WORLD WAR TWO IN WASHINGTON, D.C. ON MAY 9, 1950 HE MARRIED MARIETA LOU BARRY AT RATON, NEW MEXICO. SHE PASSED AWAY ON FEBRUARY 11, 1997 AT CUTHBERT, GEORGIA. LESTERS SURVIVING FAMILY INCLUDE- ONE SON AND HIS WIFE- ANTHONY L.& ERICA BEESON- SCOTT CITY, KANSAS, FIVE DAUGHTERS AND THEIR HUSBANDS- ALBERTA L. & JOHN WRIGHT- OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA, TRUDI J. & FRED KUNTZSCH- SCOTT CITY, KANSAS, HEIDI L. & JOHN JASON- HIGHLAND RANCH, COLORADO, JENNIFER A. & TONY HENRY- PHOENIX, ARIZONA, CALLIE S. & BRAD COX- DES MOINES, IOWA, THREE SISTERS- RUBY EITEL- SCOTT CITY, KANSAS, ARLENE BEATON- SCOTT CITY, KANSAS, VELMAE HARKNESS- CHANDLER, ARIZONA, TWENTY EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN, TWENTY THREE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, AND TWO GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, FOUR BROTHERS, LEO, LELAND, LEROY & MARVIN BEESON AND ONE SISTER, ELMA JANE DEARDEN. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 P.M. MONDAY, MAY 5, 2008 AT THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS WITH FATHER WARREN STECKLEIN OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN SCOTT COUNTY CEMETERY IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS WITH MILITARY HONORS PROVIDED BY THE SCOTT COUNTY VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS. MEMORIALS MAY BE GIVEN TO THE LESTER R. BEESON MEMORIAL FUND IN CARE OF THE FUNERAL HOME. FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M. SATURDAY AND FROM 1:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M. SUNDAY AT PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN SCOTT CITY, KANSAS.
