Obituary of Victor Becker

Victor J. Becker, age 83, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on July 29, 1923 in Lucas, Kansas the son of Otto M. and Bertha Lueker Becker. A resident of Garden City since 1957 moving from Westphalia, Kansas he had been a farmer, an elevator operator for the local Co-Op and a pump installer for Layne Western. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Garden City and was a US Army Veteran serving in Korea. On May 3, 1953 he married Fern L. Landis @ Westphalia, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors Include: Four Sons, Curtis Becker of Omaha, Nebraska, Vance Becker of North Mankato, Minnesota, Glenn Becker of Forest Hills, Maryland, and Dean Becker of Littleton, Colorado, Two Daughters: Susan Riddles of Frederick, Maryland and Nancy Matthews of Duluth, Minnesota, One Brother: Wallace Becker of St. Mary, Kansas, Four Sisters: Lucille Rahmeier of Rockville, Missouri, Carolyn Hayes of Holt, Missouri, Lorine Gleue of Belleville, Kansas and Myrtle Rhoads of Winter Park, Florida and Fourteen Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Marie Lehmann Becker and two brothers, Ralph and Marvin Becker. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Garden City with Pastor Lyle Stuehrenberg presiding. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm on Tuesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. Interment services will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007 at the St. John's Cemetery in Aliceville, Kansas with the Rev. Vance Becker presiding. The family requests memorials be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
