Charles H. Moore Sr., age 88, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Via Christi St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on October 30, 1919 in Willow Springs, Missouri, the son of Virgil E. and Mertie J. Goodman Moore. A resident of Scott County, Kansas since 1934 moving from Willow Springs, Missouri. He was a US World War II Army Veteran, a farmer and a rancher. Memberships include the Prairie View Church Of The Brethren in Friend, Kansas and VFW Post #7773 in Scott City, Kansas. On November 19, 1942 he married Waneta Z. Clinton in Barclay, Texas. She passed away on May 5, 2002 in Hays, Kansas. Survivors: One Son - Charles Moore, Jr. of Modoc, Kansas, Two Daughters - Veda Allen of Grand Junction, Colorado and Sharis Ballard of Buhler, Kansas, One Sister - Virginia Woods of California. Four Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents, wife, Six Brothers â Louis, Alvin, Archie, Joseph, Edgar, and Emmitt, and One Sister â Bertha Morris. Funeral Services will be held at the Prairie View Church Of The Brethren in Friend, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2008, with the Rev. John Tuttle & Larry Taylor presiding. Interment will be in the Prairie View Church Cemetery in Friend, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Prairie View Church Of The Brethren % Price & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with the Family present from 6-8pm, and 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
