Wanda J. Minnix, age 78, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on March 27, 1932 in Grainfield, Kansas to Edgar & Edith Cook Kriegh, the 4th of 14 children. The family later moved to Wallace County, Kansas where she graduated from high school. On November 18, 1951 she married J. Berl Minnix in Sharon Springs, Kansas and moved to the Minnix family farm in Southwest Scott County, Kansas. They moved to Garden City, Kansas in 1988. Berl passed away on June 19, 1998 in Garden City, Kansas.
She was affiliated with the Prairie View Church of the Brethren of Friend, Kansas and United Methodist Church and the Builders Sunday School Class of Garden City, Kansas. She was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Kolorful Kansas Art Klub, Beta Sigma Phi â Laureate Alpha Upsilon, HGL Club, and was a 4-H Community Leader.
Survivors Include her One Son - James & Eilene Minnix of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Carol & Tom Zackary of Salina, Kansas, Two Brothers - Max Kriegh of Wynona, Kansas, Ron Kriegh of Salina, Kansas, Four Sisters - Madge Gaschler of Westminister, Colorado, Lou Duffey of Rexford, Kansas, JoAnn Radiel of Salina, Kansas, Kay Kinney of Aurora, Colorado, Seven Grandchildren, One Great Grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Sister â Edeline Fischer, Six Brothers â Delbert Kriegh, Lawrence Kriegh, Marvin Kriegh, Edgar Kriegh Jr., Donald Kriegh and Rex Kriegh.
Funeral Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 with Rev. David Bell and Rev. Jon Tuttle presiding.
Graveside Service will be held at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010.
Memorials may be given to the Rebekah Assembly of Kansas or Scott Community Foundation % of Price & Son Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
