Ona Mae Marmon, age 88, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Dodge City, Kansas. She was born on December 20, 1921 in Ipswich, South Dakota, the oldest daughter of Roy & Iva Crane Rose.
On June 22, 1941 she married Raymond K. Marmon in Garden City, Kansas. He passed away on February 12, 2007 in Dodge City, Kansas.
She was a homemaker, mother and worked at various businesses as a sales clerk once her daughters were school age. Ona Mae was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Scott City and was involved in several Methodist Women's groups, served as Sunday School Teacher and as a youth group sponsor along with being a Camp Lakeside Trustee. As a FCE member she held offices at the local and state level. Ona Mae and her husband Raymond were involved in the local girls softball program, Winnebago motor home activities, members of the Scott County Historical Society and volunteered at the El Quartelejo Museum.
Survivors Include her Four Daughters - Carol R. & Bud Norwood of Grand Junction, CO, Betty J. & Keith Thomas of Leon, KS, Bonnie L. & Gary West of Holyrood, KS, Gwen & Mike Nelson of Dodge City, KS, One Sister in Law - Dorothy Marmon of San Diego, CA, Two Brothers - Bernard & Barbara Rose of Scott City, KS, Eugene & Ardis Rose of Scott City, KS, Two Sisters - Dorothy Evans of Oakley, KS, Royla & Jim Radina of Amarillo, TX, Eight Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, and One Daughter - Leta R. Flores, and Grandchildren - Troy Thomas and Corrina Rodgers.
Funeral Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2010 with the Rev. Dennis Carter presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church or Camp Lakeside or El Quartelejo Museum c/o Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
