Garden City, Kansas Zelbert V. Livingston, age 69, died Saturday, November 10, 2007 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on March 19, 1938 near Freeport, Kansas the son of Clarence C. and Alta Mae Jones Livingston. He grew up in the Freeport, Bluff City and Anthony, Kansas communities graduating from Anthony High School in 1957. He then went to work for Boeing of Wichita as a wing sealer and was later stricken with Bulbar Polio. After extensive therapy and recovery, he attended the Okmulgee, Oklahoma Technical School learning to become an accountant. In 1963 he moved to Garden City and worked for Schreiber Motors, 5 points Motors and Great Plains Wholesale. In 1985 he started his own home-based business know as Zel's Accounting Service. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Re-Treads, the Goldwing Riders of Western Kansas, the Garden City Roadriders and for several years served as Treasurer for the Noon Lions Club, all of Garden City. He was an avid motorcycle fan and rider and nothing was more fun for him than touring through the Rocky Mountains with his wife. He later became a classic car enthusiast showing his 1957 Thunderbird in area car shows. On September 21, 1957, he married Regina Steward in Cherokee, Oklahoma. Then on December 9, 1983, he married Karen Slater in Garden City, Kansas. She survives. Other Survivors Include: One Son, Ricky (& wife Cathy) Livingston of Joshua Tree, California; One Daughter, Renee Livingston of Hillsboro, Kansas; One Sister Izalia (& Husband Duane) Praschen of Wichita, Kansas; and Three Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Russell Livingston and a sister, Izola Duwe. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Garden City with Pastors Lyle Stuehrenberg and Larry Steadman presiding. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. Committal Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the Forest Park Cemetery in Anthony, Kansas with Rev. Clair Duwe presiding. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to the St. Judes Childrens Hospital or to the Wichita Post-Polio Support Group, Inc. both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
