JOSEPH J. BAUCK, SR., AGE 93, PASSED AWAY ON MONDAY, JULY 17, 2006 AT WICHITA COUNTY HEALTH CENTER IN LEOTI, KANSAS. .JOSEPH WAS BORN NOVEMBER 13, 1912 IN THE ST. THERESA AREA OF WICHITA COUNTY, KANSAS, THE SON OF JOHN C. & TERESA GOETZ BAUCK, WHO WERE AMONG THE EARLY SETTLERS OF WICHITA COUNTY. AFTER HAVING WORKED WITH HIS FATHER ON THE FAMILY RANCH, HE BEGAN HIS OWN FARMING AND RANCHING OPERATION. HE SURVIVED THE DEPRESSION, DROUGHTS AND DUST STORMS OF THE 30'S. MR. BAUCK WAS A LIFETIME MEMBER OF ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA CATHOLIC CHURCH IN LEOTI, KANSAS, AS WELL AS A CHARTER MEMBER OF THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL # 2930 OF MARIENTHAL, KANSAS. HE WAS A FORMER MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL CATTLEMEN'S ASSN, THE KANSAS LIVESTOCK ASSN, SOIL CONSERVATION AND SOUTHWEST KANSAS IRRIGATION ASSN. IN SEPTEMBER OF 1939 HE MARRIED MAUREEN DILLER. SHE PASSED AWAY ON DECEMBER 16, 1941. ON AUGUST 25, 1948 HE MARRIED MARY KREUTZER AT ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH IN MARIENTHAL, KANSAS. SHE SURVIVES. OTHER SURVIVORS INCLUDE- ONE SON- JOSEPH J. BAUCK, JR.- LEOTI, KANSAS ONE DAUGHTER- CARLOTTA BRACK- LEOTI, KANSAS THREE BROTHERS- GEORGE BAUCK- LEOTI, KANSAS CLEMENT BAUCK- LEOTI, KANSAS CARL BAUCK- GARDEN CITY, KANSAS TWO SISTERS- MARGARET WIESER- LEOTI, KANSAS LUCILLE PAGE- ALBANY, WISCONSIN THREE GRANDCHILDREN, TWO GREAT GRANDCHILDREN HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, ONE CHILD AND TWO SISTERS. VIGIL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 7:00 P.M. THURSDAY, JULY 20, 2006 AT ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA CATHOLIC CHURCH IN LEOTI, KANSAS. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 10:30 A.M. FRIDAY, JULY 21, 2006 AT ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA CATHOLIC CHURCH IN LEOTI, KANSAS WITH FATHER BENJAMIN MARTIN OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN ST. THERESA CEMETERY IN WICHITA COUNTY, KANSAS. FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 2:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M. WEDNESDAY AND FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 5:00 P.M. THURSDAY AT PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN LEOTI, KANSAS. MEMORIALS MAY BE GIVEN TO THE LEOTI E.M.T.'S OR THE WICHITA COUNTY L.T.C.U. IN CARE OF THE FUNERAL HOME.
