WALTER ANTHONY KREUTZER, AGE 80, PASSED AWAY ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11, 2008 AT HARRY HYNES MEMORIAL HOSPICE IN WICHITA, KANSAS. WALT WAS BORN AUGUST 4, 1927 AT MARIENTHAL, KANSAS THE SON OF ALOYSIOUS A. & ANNA KATHERYN DREHER KREUTZER. HE WAS A FARMER AND THE FORMER OWNER/OPERATOR OF THE BLUEBIRD INN IN MARIENTHAL, KANSAS. HE WAS A LIFETIME RESIDENT OF MARIENTHAL, KANSAS. HE ENTERED THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORP IN 1944, WHERE HE WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED IN 1946. HE WAS LATER RECALLED INTO THE U.S. ARMY IN 1951 AND WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED IN 1957.
WALT WAS A MEMBER OF ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH- MARIENTHAL, KANSAS KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS- MARIENTHAL, KANSAS V.F.W. POST #6752- LEOTI, KANSAS
ON SEPTEMBER 18, 1951 HE MARRIED FRANCES A. BAKER AT MARIENTHAL, KANSAS. SHE PASSED AWAY ON OCTOBER 24, 1983 AT WICHITA, KANSAS. WALT'S SURVIVING FAMILY INCLUDES- FOUR SONS & THIER WIVES- MARK & JANEL KREUTZER- WICHITA, KANSAS JERRY & LISA KREUTZER- DERBY, KANSAS BERTIS & BEV KREUTZER- FORD, KANSAS KENT & STEPHANIE KREUTZER- DERBY, KANSAS ONE SISTER- FLORINE BETZEN- LOS LUNAS, NEW MEXICO TEN GRANDCHILDREN NICK KREUTZER, TAYLOR KREUTZER, EMILY DOPPS, JARED KREUTZER, LEA KREUTZER, SARAH KREUTZER, ZACHARY KREUTZER, SAMANTHA KREUTZER, HALEY KREUTZER & HAYDEN KREUTZER. HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, FIVE BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS.
VIGIL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 7:00 P.M. SUNDAY, JUNE 15, 2008 AT ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH IN MARIENTHAL, KANSAS. FUNERAL MASS WILL BE HELD AT 10:30 A, M, MONDAY, JUNE 16, 2008 AT ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH IN MARIENTHAL, KANSAS WITH FATHER BENJAMIN MARTIN OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN ST. MARY CEMETERY AT MARIENTHAL, KANSAS WITH FULL MILITARY HONORS PROVIDED BY THE HONOR GUARD FROM FORT RILEY, KANSAS.
FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM NOON TO 8:00 P.M. SATURDAY AND FROM 1:00 A.M. TO 5:00 P.M. SUNDAY AT PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN LEOTI, KANSAS.
