Obituary of Michelle Koehn

Michelle A. Koehn, passed away as a result of a short term illness on Friday, February 8, 2008, at her residence in Cedaredge, Colorado. She was twenty-four years of age. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 11, 2008, at the Mesa View Mennonite Church in Olathe, Colorado, with Franklin Buller officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Monday, February 11, 2008, at the Delta Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta, Colorado. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at the Scott Mennonite Church in Scott City, Kansas, with Charles Nightengale officiating. Interment will follow at the Scott Mennonite Cemetery. On August 31, 1983, Michelle A. was born the daughter of Richard and Janell (Unruh) Dirks in Paris, Texas. She spent her childhood and attended school in Scott City, Kansas. On March 13, 2005, Michelle married the love of her life, Wendell Koehn in Scott City, Kansas. The couple resided in Scott City, KS and Eckert, CO before moving to the Surface Creek area fourteen months ago. Michelle was a member of the Mesa View Mennonite Church in Olathe, Colorado. She enjoyed sewing, spending time outdoors, and she loved to go snow boarding. Most importantly, Michelle loved her husband and her family and she cherished the memories they shared. Michelle is survived by her husband, Wendell Koehn of Cedaredge, CO; her parents, Richard and Janell Dirks of Scott City, KS; maternal grandparents, Jim and MaryAnn Unruh of Scott City, KS; paternal grandparents, Calvin and MaryAnn Dirks of Paris, TX; one sister, Joni Koehn and her husband Lamont of Marienthal, KS; and one brother, Brandon Dirks of Scott City, KS. Memorials may be given to the Scott County Health Department or the Scott Mennonite Church in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
