Laverne Holman, age 85, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on May 20, 1922 in Bradley, Oklahoma the daughter of Enoch Ivan and Iva Yvonne Reeks Pamplin. A resident of Garden City since 1944 moving from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma she was a retired telephone operator for Southwestern Bell.
She was a member of the Church Of The Brethren of Garden City, the Telephone Pioneers and AARP.
On April 29, 1988 she married Bob Holman in Garden City, Kansas. He survives.
Other Survivors Include: Two Daughters, Brenda Ulrich of Garden City, Kansas and Sherri Smith of Garden City, Kansas; One Step-Son, Daniel Holman of Alstead, New Hampshire; One Step-Daughter, Diana Holman of Victorville, California; Two Brothers, Howard Pamplin of Pamona, California and Cecil Pamplin of Deer Trail, Washington; Thirteen Grandchildren and Twenty Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Allen, a brother, Charles Pamplin and two sisters, Thelma McFadden and Lorene Stalter.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Church Of The Brethren in Garden City with Pastor John Elder presiding.
Friends may call from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
The family requests memorials be given to the Laverne Holman Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
