Velvyn Joy Henderson age 81, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at her home in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on August 14, 1926 in Gove County, Kansas, the daughter of Vernon D. and Pearl E. McKinley Bollinger. She moved to Scott City, Kansas in 1947 from Pueblo, Colorado. She was the book keeper, owner and operator of Henderson's Inc. in Scott City. Memberships include the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas, United Methodist Women of Scott City, Kansas, and Pyramid China Painters of Scott City, Kansas. On June 2, 1946 she married "Jake" Loren A. Henderson in Pueblo, Colorado. He passed away on March 4, 2004 in Scott City, Kansas. Survivors Include One Son - Larry Henderson of Oak Grove, Missouri, Two Daughters Dr. Joy Henderson-Logan & Scott Logan of Topeka, Kansas, and Jayne & Willie Augerot Scott City, Kansas. Nine Grandchildren and Six & Half Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Brother â Vernon Earl Bollinger, and One Sister - Vera Lewis . Funeral Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2008 with the Rev. Mike McGuire presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Scott County Library, St. Catherine Home Health & Hospice, or the United Methodist Church % Price & Sons Funeral Home Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
