Rosella Marie Hedges, age 74, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born on August 17, 1935 in Elkhart, Kansas, the daughter of David & Dorothy McCullough Anderson. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1957 moving from Garden City, Kansas, she taught school in the Scott City School System for 35 years in various capacities, ending her career as the Scott City Middle School librarian. She enjoyed cruise travel, loved playing bridge, and going to Laughlin, Nevada. She attended school in Garden City, Kansas and graduated from Garden City Community College and also from Kansas State University at Manhattan. Her memberships include the First United Methodist Church where she was church librarian for a number of years and Women's Investment Club both of Scott City, the KNEA and NEA. On August 25, 1953 she married Donald E. Hedges in Manhattan, Kansas. He survives. Survivors include her Husband - Donald E. Hedges of Scott City, Kansas, Two Sons - Thane Hedges of Scott City, Kansas and Michael Hedges of Littleton, Colorado, One Brother - Bruce Anderson of Littlefield, Texas, Three Granddaughters, One Grandson, and Three Great Grandsons. She was preceded in death by her Parents, One Daughter, and One Sister. Memorial Service will be held at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009 with the Rev. Dennis Carter presiding. Private family Inurnment will be held in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials In Lieu Of Flowers may be given to the United Methodist Church % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City. There will be no calling times.
