VAnna G. (Turley) Hatler, age 82, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. Born on August 8, 1925 in Gove County, Kansas, the daughter of Robert A. and Mary Alma Borst Turley. She graduated from Scott City High School and attended Fort Hays State University.
Vanna resided in Garden City from 1950 to 1995 where she worked and managed the Warren Hotel for 35 years. She had also worked at the Finney County Court House where she retired in 2004 and moved back to Scott City.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert A. and Mary Alma Turley Sr, two sisters Gertrude Turley and Estella Cranmer, and two brothers Robert A. Turley Jr, and Earl A.Turley.
Those family members she leaves behind are three daughters, Dianna Solorio (George) of Security, Colorado, Mary Lofstrom (David) of Overland Park, Kansas, and Joy Ferry (Mark) of Rochester Hills, Michigan, one son, Mark Hatler (Susan) of Overland Park, Kansas, two sisters, Dorothy Blume of Scott City, Kansas and Elsie Wren of Muretta, California, three brothers Clarence A. Turley of Scott City, Kansas, William J. Turley of Wakeeney, Kansas and Ralph L. Turley of Ava, Missouri, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren along with spouses, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Kyle Evans presiding. Visitation will be at Price Funeral Home in Scott City on Friday, May 9 from 5pm-8pm. The family suggests any contributions be directed to your favorite charity or hospice.
