Thelma Edna Kyner Foster, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at in Salt Lake City, Utah. Thelma was born February 5, 1926 in Sharon Springs, Kansas the daughter of Everett Henry & Theresa Elizabeth Burnett Kyner. She was raised in Sharon Springs and graduated from Wallace County High School in 1944. Thelma loved cooking, making homemade pies, sewing, camping, fishing and hunting and like her husband and sons, was an avid Denver Broncos fan. She worked in customer service for many years, serving others and her community. She loved to attend her children's and grandchildren's football, basketball, softball, soccer and volleyball games. Thelma was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. We will miss her unique sense of humor and her loving hugs and kisses. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. We will live comforted and have peace in knowing that she is back with her soul mate and that they will live happily ever after. Thelma and Paul lived in Sharon Springs, Kansas until moving to Oak Creek, Colorado in 1957. They later moved to Olathe, Colorado and then to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2006.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Oak Creek, Colorado.
On September 23, 1944 she married Paul Allen Foster at Goodland, Kansas. Thelma was temporarily separated from her dear spouse when he passed away on July 25, 2008 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Thelma's surviving family members include- Two sons and their wives- Allen Eugene & Cindy Foster- Delta, Colorado David Wayne & Gaye Foster- Salt Lake City, Utah Two daughters and their husbands- Karen Kay & Norm Doolin- Ogden, Utah Pamela Sue & James Shephard- Livingston, Texas Twenty one grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Harold, Walt and Emory Kyner, and three sisters, Gladys Dechant, Juanita Collins and Cleo Langdon and a grandson, Shawn Shephard
A celebration of Thelma's life and the reuniting of her and her beloved husband, Paul, will be held at funeral services beginning at 10:30 a.m. (M.S.T.) on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, which is Paul & Thelma's 64th wedding anniversary, at the United Methodist Church in Tribune, Kansas with the Reverend Les Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas.
Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to The Greeley County Boy Scouts in care of the funeral home.
