Paul Allen Foster, Age 87, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2008 at Wasatch Valley Rehab in Salt Lake City, Utah. Paul was born April 18, 1921 at Horace, Kansas, the son of George Kenneth & Lulu Harper Foster. Paul was raised on the family farm in Greeley County, Kansas and following high school graduation he enlisted and served his country with the United States Army during World War Two. He was a carpenter and contractor and was a Greeley County, Kansas resident until moving to the Oak Creek, Colorado in 1957, then moving to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2007
Paul was a member of the Oak Creek Methodist Church and the Oak Creek Volunteer Fire Department in Oak Creek, Colorado where he served as Oak Creek Fire Chief. He was a major contributor to the community of Oak Creek and was well respected and loved by all.
On September 23, 1944 he married Thelma Edna Kyner at Goodland, Kansas. She survives. Paul's other surviving family members include- Two sons and their wives- Allen Eugene & Cindy Foster- Delta, Colorado David Wayne & Gaye Foster- Kearns, Utah Two daughters and their husbands- Karen Kay & Norm Doolin- Ogden, Utah Pamela Sue & James Shepard- Livingston, Texas Two sisters- Bertha May McFadden- Newton, Kansas Carol Hargett- Cimarron, Kansas Twenty-one Grandchildren, Thirty-one Great grandchildren, Two Great Great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Gerald, Harold & Wayne, two sisters, Thelma Simons and Charlene Foster and a grandson, Shawn Shepard.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. ( M.D.T.) Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Tribune, Kansas with the Reverend Les Ellis officiating.
Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery with full military graveside honors provided by the United States Army, Fort Riley Honors Detail, Fort Riley, Kansas.
Friends may call from noon to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas
Memorials may be given to Greeley County E.M.T's or the Oak Creek Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
