Obituary of Robert Forney

Robert M. Forney, age 78, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on December 6, 1931 in Osborne, Kansas, the son of Eldon & Muriel Glessner Forney. A resident of Garden City, Kansas since 1994 moving from Osborne, Kansas, he was a USDA Meat Inspector. His memberships include the Fellowship Baptist Church in Garden City, Kansas. On February 12, 1955 he married Mildred M. Standley in Osborne, Kansas. She passed away on May 17, 1991 in Salina, Kansas. Survivors include his Six Daughters - Debbie Berry of Garden City, Kansas, Glenda Smith of Garden City, Kansas, Vicki Doherty of Garden City, Kansas, Sheryl Weaver of West Monroe, Louisiana, Valerie Forney of Amarillo, Texas, Theresa Brown of Brasstown, North Carolina, One Son - Robert Forney, Jr. of Butner, North Carolina, One Brother- Richard Bishop of Jet, Oklahoma, Twenty Grandchildren and Thirteen Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents and Wife â Mildred M. Forney. Funeral Services will be held at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Garden City, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 with the Rev. Mike McVey officiating. Interment will be in the Osborne County Cemetery in Osborne, Kansas at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Memorials amy be given to the Fellowship Baptist Church or American Heart Association or American Lung Association % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
