Michael Dean Foltz, age 54, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in Love County, Oklahoma from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born November 13, 1955 in Boise City, Oklahoma the son of Douglas and Carol Jeanne Montgomery Foltz. He grew up in Garden City and was a 1972 graduate of Garden City High School. Mike owned and operated his own construction company and excavating business in Garden City before moving to Kingston, Oklahoma in 2007. Most recently, he had been living in Falcon Head on Lake Texoma. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Garden City. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and he enjoyed socializing with friends and family. Mike was full of fun and laughter and never met a stranger. His favorite pastime was enjoying cookouts overlooking Lake Texoma. In March of 1977 he married Debbie Sauer in Garden City, Kansas. Then in August of 2007 he married Kimberly Essary in Madill, Oklahoma. She survives. Other Survivors Include: One Son, Jake Foltz of Garden City, Kansas; One Daughter, Ashley Foltz Roth of Garden City, Kansas; Parents, Doug & Carol Foltz of Kingston, Oklahoma; Two Brothers, Dave Foltz of Garden City, Kansas and Marty Foltz of Branson, Missouri; One Sister, Kathy Nelson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; One Grandson, Austin Todd Roth of Garden City, Kansas; Three Granddaughters, Kennedy Michal Foltz of Ellinwood, Kansas, Karson Lee Ann Foltz of Ellinwood, Kansas and Alexa Faith Roth of Garden City, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Garden City with Rev. Randy Caddell presiding. Friends may call from 9:00am until service time on Saturday @ the church. Interment will be held at 4:00pm in the Karoma Cemetery in Goltry, Oklahoma. The family requests memorials be given to the Mike Foltz Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
