I grew up with Cash, I was fortunate enough to be his best friend from a very young age and into our adulthood. Cash and I of course shared a lot of fond memories, through Junior High and High School if we were not seen together people would question the other one about where the other one was. Together, along with a few other friends growing up, we tore up Scott City! We sort of had a rat pack going on and the group of kids we hung around with did a lot of crazy things. The multiple stories I can tell you of the adventures that Cash and I had would fill up books, those millions of stories have been swelling in my head since I found out about Cash's passing. Most of the adventures our mothers would shriek to find out what we did back then, but most people would be delighted to hear those stories and wondering how we didn't end up in jail or worse LOL. I was one of a handful of people growing up with Cash that knew that that was his middle name and his real name was Lee.
Even after High School and I went to college for a couple of years I moved to California to live with Cash for a year. Two flatlanders in California in the mid 80s, my oh my. My marriage right after that back in Scott City was when we sort of started losing contact. But recently I had gotten back in contact with Cash and was chatting with him and getting to know him again. I was looking forward to going to see him soon.
I love you Cash, I truly had a fantastic best friend growing up, I will miss you greatly Buddy.
I can picture you and your dad John setting at pole positions on that big race track in the sky, looking at each other with big grins on your faces behind your racing shields, as you burn rubber and race into Infinity.

You worked on that race car with all your heart and soul, lived your dream of racing even with a limited Budget. You always had that wonderful smile on your face whenever you were at the track, regardless of how you ran you always had the gleam in your eyes of accomplishment, that you gave it your all. This is one of my favorite shots I had the privilege of taking you coming coming off of turn four at the Bullring, Rooks County Speedway.
I'm sure going to miss seeing you at the track, I'll miss that constant smile of yours.
Rest in peace my friend
