I was honored to have Paula as a close friend over the past 25+ years. There are so many wonderful adventures that we shared: camping, boating, concerts, football games, softball tourneys, drinks, dancing, weddings, and of course shopping at Maurices and Cato. Paula's smile and laugh always lit up a room. Her passion for education and teaching math will never be forgotten. Warm thoughts and prayers to the Miller family!

Miss Miller was my HS math teacher in Hamilton. She was so great and understanding. She always had time to help out and go above and beyond to help any student that needed help. I never saw her have a bad day, and had a smile that would light up a room. Condolences to her family, friends and students.

I taught with Paula at Hamilton and we were in a car pool together coming from Emporia. She was always smiling and up for anything. I have lots of fond memories of her and the fun we use to have. The students loved and respected her as well. I want to send my sincere condolences and prayers to Paula's family. Rest in peace my friend.

Miss Miller was my XLT teacher in my junior year, and my algebra 2 teacher in my sophomore year….. we didn’t always see eye to eye, but if I asked for one on one help she always found a different way to teach me the way I understood… I hate math but she would always find a way to help a kid understand her passion!!! Rest In Peace Paula.
Sincerely,
Graduate of 2009

My most sincere condolences to the Miller family. Ms. Miller taught me Pre-Calc and Calculus and was always extremely helpful; I learned a lot from her classes. She always offered a good luck every time I left class early for a tennis tournament. Prayers to the family!

Our condolences to the Miller family. Ms. Miller was a good teacher who knew the subject well. It must have been incredibly difficult to teach when her health was deteriorating, but she did. She made math much easier to understand for my son and numerous others. We were lucky to have her. Prayers for her family.

I've enjoyed working with Paula in the math department at ACHS for the past 10 years. There is so much that I learned from her, and so much I know I could have continued learning from her. She was a phenomenal teacher and had the ability to break down math so even the students who have spent a life time struggling with the subject could understand. She not only had high expectations for her students, but everyone around her. Paula was one of those people that pushed you to be your best and was willing to help get you there. Going to work next school year without her will be so difficult. I am so sorry to all of her family and friends that you lost this beautiful light too soon. I am heartbroken about her being gone, but rejoicing that she is now in heaven with our Lord and Savior! No more pain and sorrow!

Paula and I didn't stay in great touch the last several years, but she has always held a special place in my heart nonetheless. SO MANY treasured memories from high school and college, it's hard to pick a favorite. She was one of the most genuine people I've ever met. I never heard her talk behind anyone's back (if she had something to say, she said it--she'd fit right in here in NYC. HA!) and not a mean word about anyone. She laughed easily, was so much fun, had such an easy smile. And she had talent oozing out of her pores. I don't think there was anything she couldn't do! She got me hooked on crafting when Barb worked at Gingham Gallery--a whole new world was introduced to me there. She was always ready to lend a helping hand or comfort someone who needed a shoulder.
I do remember one time Paula and I had gone home to Scott from Emporia State and on the way back to Emporia my car was having inexplicable trouble. Max speed I could reach was 35mph. I was beside myself to say the very least. Emporia was 5 hours away doing the speed limit! Paula was an absolute angel about it. She was a person who liked to be punctual and not waste time so I know it must have been destroying her soul but bless her she just kept telling me, as I apologized, that it was okay, we'd get back when we got back.
My heart is completely broken for Barb and Bill, Monique and Dak and their kids and all of her family. If there is one thing I knew about Paula--family was everything to her. Everything.
Sending so much love and sympathy to all of you. I wish I was able to be there on Saturday, but I will watch the live stream.
