I worked with Phyllis at Parkview Baptist Church in 1982. I was not a certified teacher yet but she taught me everything I needed to know to teach 4 year olds. She was an outstanding mentor. I went on to get my degree in early childhood education. We had mutual friends so when I did my student teaching, I interned with a friend of hers. This teacher had me teaching the very first day of my student teaching as she knew what a good job Phyllis did preparing me for teaching. She was a wonderful person.

Ms. Phyllis Fater touched many folks in Glenpool during her time with Glenpool Public School. She was an Ambassador for Early Childhood Education in Glenpool, helping start the first "Drop Everything and Play" program in the State of Oklahoma at Glenpool. She was in our home many times with that program, helping us with our young daughter, through this program. She became a friend and holds a special place in the Fox Family's Heart. Prayers to the Family during this time of Loss. She has gone to a much better place and has left many great memories for many folks here in Glenpool. Want to share a link I posted in my Glenpool Group on Facebook, where many have express their thought on Ms. Fater. Prayers

Phyllis was my dear, dear friend. She was my first friend after moving to Tulsa. We spent hours together on church projects, with our children and on the phone. A more giving person I can not imagine. She was a blessing and will live in my heart forever and in heaven. Miss you

My family's thoughts and prayers are with you all. Mrs. Fater was an amazing lady who made a difference in so many lives! We have such fond memories of her with all 3 of our sons. We had lots of love for her! My mom and sister were colleagues and loved her as well. This picture is of my middle son, Garret with Mrs. Fater. We were blessed beyond measure to run into her right before she left for Colorado, I believe it was. She looked at him and said "I know your eyes. You were of mine that I loved". We were truly blessed to have known her and my kids were blessed to have her in their lives.
Rest in peace Mrs. Fater ❤️

I am so sorry for your loss. I have many happy memories of Phyllis in Gail’s pool. I loved talking education & teaching methods with her. She was a special gift to every life she touched. This picture shows two good friends, Gail and Phyllis. Their smiles say it all.
