Eva M. Fairleigh, age 74, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at her home in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on December 6, 1933 in Scott City, Kansas, the daughter of Ellis Robert and Olive Mae Stratton Smith. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, she was a homemaker, mother, and co-founder and partner of Fairleigh Corporation.
Her membership include St. Luke's Episcopal Church, ECW, PEO, Scott City Music Club, and Scott City Arts Council, all of Scott City, Kansas. She was also a member of the National Cattlewomen's Association and a church organist for many years.
On August 3, 1951 she married Floyd L. Fairleigh in Scott City, Kansas. He passed away on Mary 17, 1993 in Rochester, Minnesota.
Survivors include: One Son - John Fairleigh of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Lisa Griffin of Garden City, Kansas, Two Grandsons - Bryce Fairleigh of Scott City, Kansas and Blaine Fairleigh of Scott City, Kansas, Two Granddaughters - Taylor Fairleigh of Scott City, Kansas and Tyler Vondracek of Scott City, Kansas, One Brother - Richard Smith of Stevensville, Montana, Two Sisters - Shirley Gatewood of Houston, Texas and Roberta Proctor of Fort Worth, Texas, One Aunt - Laura Vogt of Tribune, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
Funeral Service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Monday October 13, 2008, with the Fr. Don Martin of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials can be given to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, St Catherine Hospice, or Silent Angels Shelter % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
