James Leon Lobmeyer, age 92, passed away on November 18, 2021 at the Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas. He was born on March 20 1929 in Kinsley, Kansas, the son of Nicholas J. and Johanna M Gerstberger Lobmeyer. A resident of Wichita County, Kansas since 1953 moving from Greeley County, Kansas, he was a farmer.
On April 11, 1950, James married Kathryn Strecker in Spearville, Kansas. She passed away on September 22, 2017 in Leoti, Kansas.
James was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Leoti, Kansas.
Survivors include eleven children; Albert & Therese Lobmeyer of Leoti, Kansas, James & Valerie Lobmeyer of Leoti, Kansas, Alfreda Lobmeyer of Hill City, Kansas, Daniel Lobmeyer of Leoti, Kansas, Helen & Louis Palacio of Eagan, Minnesota, Walter & Lee Lobmeyer of Topeka, Kansas, Francis & Jada Lobmeyer, of Garden City, Kansas, Nancy Lobmeyer of Goodland, Kansas, Janice Lobmeyer of Topeka, Kansas, Lyle & Anita Lobmeyer, of Garden City, Kansas, Bruce Lobmeyer, of Garden City, Kansas, one Sister, Margaret Exum of Broadhead, Wisconsin, Thirty-three Grandchildren, and Thirty-seven Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Edward Lobmeyer, one daughter, Kathryn Lobmeyer, two grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, two brothers, and three sisters.
Vigil services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Leoti, Kansas. Services will be live streamed on Western Kansas Catholic Facebook page.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Leoti, Kansas with Father Tim Hickey presiding. Services will be live streamed on Western Kansas Catholic Facebook page.
Interment will be in the Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday November 23, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Price and Sons Funeral home at 4th and “J” St. in Leoti, Kansas.
