Obituary of Steve A. Schmidt

Steve A. Schmidt, age 68, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at his home in Greeley County, Kansas.  He was born on October 21, 1952, in Tribune, Kansas, the son of Dwayne C. and Edith Mathews Schmidt.  A lifetime resident of Tribune, Kansas, he was a Farmer, Rancher, Crop Adjuster, and the past Sheriff of Tribune, Kansas where he served for over 12 years.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tribune, Kansas, and the Sheriff’s Association.

On January 1, 1980, he married Debbie M. Shoemaker in Tribune, Kansas.  She survives.

Survivors include his Wife - Debbie M. Schmidt of Tribune, Kansas, Two Sons - Kelly & Gwynneth Harris of Elbert, Colorado, Jarrod & Janie Schmidt or Tribune, Kansas, One Daughter - Tina & Brian Rodriguez of Lacrosse, Kansas, One Sister - Cheryl Ann & Randall Graham of Fort Worth, Texas, Nine Grandchildren - Andrew, Katherine, Alex, Kylee, Quintin, Taven, Baileigh, Grayson and Grady, Six Great Grandchildren - Travis, Treston, Asher, Krew, Crimsyn, and Emily.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, and a special Uncle - Donald Schmidt along with numerous other Aunts & Uncles.

Graveside Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. (MST) Thursday, October 21, 2021, at the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas, with Pastor Dustin Fritzmeier presiding.  Services will be streamed live at www.priceandsons.com.  Click the live stream tab on the left side of the obituary starting at 10:25 a.m. (MST)

Inurnment will be in the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas.
