EVERETT RUSSELL ENGLE , JR., AGE 79, PASSED AWAY ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2006 AT POUDRE VALLEY HOSPITAL IN FORT COLLINS, COLORADO. RUSSELL WAS BORN JULY 23, 1927 IN LEOTI, KANSAS, THE SON OF EVERETT RUSSELL & ANNABELLE KNIGGE ENGLE, SR. HE HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF TRIBUNE, KANSAS SINCE 1941. HE WAS RETIRED FROM THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE, SERVING AS GREELEY COUNTY POSTMASTER FROM 1968 THROUGH 1988. PRIOR TO HIS SERVICE WITH THE POST OFFICE, HE AND HIS BROTHER WAYNE, WORKED TOGETHER IN ENGLE ELECTRIC. RUSSELL WAS A CHRISTIAN AND A MEMBER OF THE UNITED METHODIAT CHURCH IN TRIBUNE, KANSAS. HE WAS A U.S. NAVY VETERAN. HE WAS AN INTREGAL PART OF THE FABRIC OF THE COMMUNITY OF TRIBUNE, KANSAS, SERVING AS A CITY COUNCILMAN, A VOLUNTEER ON THE GREELEY COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT, AN E.M.T., AND A "JACK-OF-ALL-TRADES". FOLLOWING HIS RETIREMENT, HE AND HIS WIFE VIVIAN ENJOYED MANY YEARS "RV-ING " WITH FRIENDS AND WERE VERY ACTIVE IN LOCAL SQUARE DANCE CLUBS. ON JUNE 3, 1947 HE MARRIED VIVIAN LEE KINLUND AT TRIBUNE, KANSAS. HIS DEVOTED WIFE OF 59 YEARS SURVIVES. OTHER SURVIVORS INCLUDE: TWO DAUGHTERS- LINDA EUSTACE AND HER HUSBAND STEVE, OF EULESS, TEXAS, WANDA DAVIS AND HER HUSBAND TOM OF LOVELAND, COLORADO. GRANDCHILDREN INCLUDE RYAN DAVIS AND HIS WIFE SHAUNA OF LOVELAND, COLORADO, BLAKE DAVIS AND HIS WIFE LEAH OF LOVELAND, COLORADO, MELISSA HARRIS AND HER HUSBAND JUSTIN OF TRIBUNE, KANSAS, DREW DAVIS AND HIS WIFE ALLYSON OF WESTMINSTER, COLORADO, AND MATTHEW BROOKS OF FORT COLLINS, COLRADO. ONE GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER, HARMONY DAVIS OF LOVELAND, COLORADO AND A GREAT GRANDSON DUE IN DECEMBER. RUSS IS ALSO SURVIVED BY A SISTERS-IN-LAW, VERNA HARRIS AND HER HUSBAND CHARLES, ELLA GRIFFIN AND MARY KINLUND, ALL OF TRIBUNE, KANSAS.CAROLYN ENGLE OF LEE'S SUMMITT, MISSOURI AND BROTHERS-IN-LAW NAT KINLUND AND HIS WIFE DIANE OF LONGMONT, COLORADO AND NEAL KINLUND OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AND NUMEROUS NIECES AND NEPHEWS.. HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, A DAUGHTER, NINA ENGLE BROOKS AND HIS BROTHER C. WAYNE ENGLE. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 10:30 A.M. (M.D.T.) TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2006 AT THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN TRIBUNE, KANSAS WITH THE REVEREND LES ELLIS OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN GREELEY COUNTY CEMETERY IN TRIBUNE, KANSAS WITH FULL MILITARY HONORS PROVIDED BY THE U.S. ARMY FUNERAL DETAIL OF FORT RILEY, KANSAS. FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM NOON TO 8:00 P.M. MONDAY AT PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN TRIBUNE, KANSAS. MEMORIALS MAY BE GIVEN TO THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OR THE MELVIN KUDER SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER IN CARE OF THER FUNERAL HOME.
