James A. "Jim" Appel, 74, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on April 6, 1947, in Healy, Kansas, the son of Raymond Jacob and Margaret Jean West Appel. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, he was a carpenter and was the past owner and operator of the Pool Hall in Scott City, Kansas.
James was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Scott City, Kansas, and was a US Army Veteran serving from 1968 to 1969. He was a lifelong member of the VFW Post #7773. Jim was past Commander and present Quartermaster of the VFW, and a life member of Veterans Of The Vietnam War Inc.
On May 29, 2016, he married Jo De Rowe in Scott City, Kansas. She survives.
Survivors include his Wife - Jo De Rowe Appel of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Meagan J. & Corey Cramer of Manhattan, Kansas, One Brother - Terrance & Karen Appel of Scott City, Kansas, One Sister - Norene Jaeger of Olathe, Kansas, and Two Granddaughters - Maddison Cramer of Manhattan, Kansas, McKenzie Cramer of Manhattan, Kansas, and Numerous Nieces & Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Two Brothers - David Appel, Larry Appel, and Two Sisters - Sharon Appel and June Palen.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas. Services will be streamed live at www.priceandsons.com. Click the live stream tab on the left side of the obituary or click on LIVESTREAM" starting at 10:25 a.m.
Inurnment will be in the Healy Cemetery in Healy, Kansas.
