A wonderful tribute to a phenomenal life lived! There are many around this globe who have been blessed because of Mildred. Her love for community, youth, and others is evident in the values she held dear through the choices she made in spending her time and resources to "make the best better." I am grateful for the impact that she had on my life through the sons she raised and her devotion to 4-H Youth Development in Greely County and around the world. Mildred was a champion of positive youth development and community betterment! Her legacy will influence countless lives for generations. Grace and peace to all who mourn. Yet we rejoice in the assurance that this world is not the end.

An inspiring story of a lady blessed with the gift of giving who used her talents for the good of all.
I met Mildred briefly in 1986 when, with three other IFYEs from New Zealand and myself from Australia, Deryl brought us by road from the National IFYE Convention in Bozeman MO to descend on a family festival to celebrate the return of one of them from the Middle East. Amid the bustle of the party we were greeted with such interest and treated with such kindness by Mildred and Buford that a lasting regard has ensued.
Grant and I send our deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers to Deryl and Vernon, your families and your friends at this sad time. May Eternal Rest be hers, O Lord

My family and I all loved Mildred. She always reminded me of my grandma because she was the same age and was raised much the same as her. She would often pop out one of the same sayings my grandma would say and I would laugh. Paige loved helping her get the fair kitchen ready before fair. Paige would climb up in the attic and bring stuff down while Mildred stood at the bottom of the ladder and shouted out what to get. Then she and Mildred always finished up because Paige was one of the only ones who would mop and scrub the floor for Mildred. When she worked in the register of deeds, if we couldn't remember who someone was or their lineage we just said "Go ask Mildred, She'll know." She remembered things far better than I ever could! I attended many meetings and events with Mildred and always enjoyed her great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.
