Coach Harper was a person you wanted to please. He wanted the best out of everyone, wouldn’t let you simply get by. He pushed you, prodded you, made you laugh and certainly wasn’t afraid to make you cry from working out in practice. He also wasn’t afraid to tell you exactly what you needed to hear, like it or not! But it wasn’t just on the mat where he wanted you to be your best. If you saw him walking in the halls you knew to be on your best behavior. His “LOOK” was all it took to get you to straighten up. But it wasn’t because he demanded it, you simply didn’t want to disappoint him. We all respected him, not because he demanded respect, but because he well deserved it! He never expected or demanded perfection, only that you gave your best.
Thank you Coach for all you added to my life!

My condolences to all the family. Mick and Elaine were neighbors when I lived in Tribune in the late 2000's. We enjoyed many visits in passing as well as at church. They were some of the most welcoming people I met in my time at Tribune and I was so grateful for their friendship and kindness. May the eternal light shine upon them.
