Obituary of Erik Dale Shanabarger

Garden City, Kansas Erik Dale Shanabarger, age 41, died at his residence in Garden City, Kansas on October 12, 2020. He was born on July 6, 1979 in Panarama City, California, the son of Robert Joseph Shanabarger and Sharon “Kris” Kristen Sorenson Shanabarger. He lived in Palmdale, California until 1987 when he moved to Garden City, Kansas. He attended GCHS and worked for the Garden City Telegram as a carrier and worked his way up to the district manager. Currently he worked for Dillions West of Garden City for the past 10 years. Erik enjoyed camping, facebooking, wrestling, music, his job. He is survived by hist Father, Robert Shanabarger of Seattle, Washington; mother, Sharon “Kris” Shanabarger of Garden City, Kansas; Step-father, Dale Wainwright of Garden City, Kansas; an aunt, Trudy Marvin of California; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; Leo and Maria Shanabarger, Richard and Sherry Sorenson. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Open calling will be from 2-8 pm at Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Shriners Hospital in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St. Garden City, Kansas 67846.
