Edward “Eddie,” “Ed,” A. Loflin, age 82, passed away at the Greeley County Hospital on Thursday, October 8, 2020. Ed was born on September 7, 1938, on a farm north west of Coronado, Kansas, the son of Joe M. Loflin and Myrtle F. Olsen Loflin. Ed was the fourth of nine boys.
Ed had many careers. He was a heavy equipment operator, mason/brick layer, oil roughneck, Las Vegas black jack dealer, owner of the Leoti Pool Hall, supervisor of the Wichita County Road Department, served four years in the Navy on a sub tender. He enjoyed doing puzzles, going camping and most importantly driving every street in Leoti on a daily basis.
Ed was a member of the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas. He served on the Board of Trustees for many years.
Survivors include two children - Terri and Paul Tasker of Wichita, Kansas, and Joe and Joleen Loflin of Wichita, Kansas, six grandchildren; T J Tasker of Wichita, Kansas, Dailey Tasker of Shawnee, Kansas, Tucker Tasker of Wichita, Kansas, Benjamin Loflin of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jacob and Emily Loflin of Wichita, Kansas, and Joshua Loflin of Wichita, Kansas.
Ed was proceeded in death by his parents and four brothers; Walt, Ken, Art, and Waldo.
Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Greeley County Hospital Comfort Care or the United Methodist Church of Leoti in care of Price & Sons Funeral Homes.
