Obituary of Margaret Rosamary Sheets

Lakin, Kansas/Leoti, Kansas Margaret Rosamary Sheets, age 92, went to be with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 8, 2020. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Rosamary was born July 23, 1927 in Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Herb J. & Eula May (Sipple) Barr. She was a 1945 graduate of Wichita County High School in Leoti, Kansas and later from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, then attending Kansas State University. She married the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Sheets on February 12, 1950 in Leoti, Kansas. They were blessed with seventy wonderful years of marriage. They have four children, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Rosamary & Dick began their life together in Westcliffe, Colorado, which was always dear to their hearts. They moved to Leoti, Kansas in 1951. Rosamary was a member of Christ Covenant Church in Leoti, Kansas. Rosamary enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing bridge, and being outdoors. She especially loved spending time with her family. Rosamary is survived by her beloved husband, Dick Sheets of Lakin, Kansas; four children including Scott Sheets and his wife Vicki of Brewster, Kansas, Becky Miller and her husband Richard of Leoti, Kansas, Peggy Wolken & her husband Dan of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Ted Sheets & his wife Brenda of Poteau, Oklahoma. Grandchildren – Sondra Brown, Beau Sheets, Tad Sheets, Drew Miller, Lindsey Miller, Jessica Wolken, Spenser Wolken, Colton Sheets, and Lucas Sheets. Great grandchildren- Jalee, Macee & Blaine Brown; Kamdyn, Ty, Clay, Kynnedy & Karsyn Sheets; Emma, Kate, Luke & James Miller and a brother- Ken Barr of Denver, Colorado as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Her parents, and two brothers Jack Barr & Bill Barr precede her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 12, 202 at Christ Covenant Church in Leoti, Kansas with Pastor Stephen Morefield officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until 8:00 pm Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.
